Collective Agreement

  • This Collective Agreement stipulates compensations for employees and their families including costs of medical treatment and health improvement, and improvement of social and living conditions and occupational safety.
  • The new Agreement stipulates the costs per employee up to KZT 1,184,000. The new Collective Agreement provides social benefits for employees and their families, stipulates pay elements and amounts, and working time and time off.
  • KMG EP provides necessary living conditions for oilfield workers. Workers on rotating shifts are provided with dormitories and canteens; commuter services for employees to and from work by motor or railway transport.
  • KMG EP provides its employees working under a rotation schedule with three hot meals daily; provides employees who work at oil fields and industrial area with hot lunches and bag meals, and provides employees who work far from canteens with meals in thermos containers.
  • KMG EP provides its employees with the following facilities: canteens; facilities for domestic, household and practical needs; locker rooms; shower rooms, etc. The efforts to this effect will be continued as part of the programme for improvement of social and living conditions of employees.
  • 50 and 55 MCI* lump sum benefit is paid to female employees upon reaching ages 50 and 55, respectively; 50 and 60 MCI lump sum benefit is paid to male employees upon reaching ages 50 and 60, respectively. *MCI is a monthly calculation index
  • 50 MCI is paid to an employee upon birth of a child, and 20 MCI is paid every month until the child reaches the age of 1.5 years.
  • On the occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day, employees who rendered the international military assistance in Afghanistan and on the occasion of Day of Disabled Persons, employees who have disabled children are paid a lump sum benefit amounting to 50 MCI, disabled employees of the third group are paid a lump sum benefit amounting to 30 MCI.
  • KMG EP provides medical insurance for employees and up to 3 members of their families amounting to KZT 750,000 per year. Material aid to labor leave amounting to 60 MCI is provided for health improvement purposes.
  • Employees are reimbursed for health resort treatment expenses amounting up to KZT 120,000 following annual occupational health examination.
  • KMG EP reimburses expenses amounting to KZT 143,350 for treatment of an employee in Medicare medical rehabilitation centre following annual occupational health examination.
  • KMG EP reimburses 70% of the cost of a voucher to Kendirli rest area up to 10 days of stay within the quota limits established for business units.
  • KMG EP covers expenses for recreation of employees’ children between 7 and 14 years old in children’s health improvement camps in Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Turkey.
  • Upon reaching pension age and termination of employment with an employee, such employee will be paid a lump sum benefit depending on his/her length of service. 1.5 monthly salary when length of service is from 10 to 20 years, 3.5 monthly salary when length of service is from 20 to 30 years, and 3.5 monthly salary when length of service is over 30 years.
  • Short-term disability benefits for up to 30 calendar days in a calendar year shall be set based on length of service in oil and gas industry, and shall be paid as follows: 15 MCI when length of service is less than 3 years according to Kazakhstan laws; 50% from base salary when length of service is between 3 and 5 years; 75% from base salary when length of service is between 5 and 8 years; and 100% from base salary when length of service is over 8 years.
  • The Collective Agreement stipulates lump sum benefit of 40 MCI on the occasion of three Kazakhstan public holidays: Kazakhstan Oilman’s Day, Kazakhstan Independence Day and Nauryz Meiramy.
  • Female employees are paid bonuses amounting to 15 MCI on the occasion of the 8th of March, the International Women’s Day.
  • KMG EP reimburses employees’ expenses for Zhanaozen fitness centre and Atyrau indoor swimming pool.

In 2007 KazMunaiGas Exploration Production (“KMG EP”) was among the first companies in Kazakhstan to sign a Collective Agreement which would ensure high degree of social protection to its employees.

In 2008 the Collective Agreement was named the best document in Kazakhstan according to Paryz state-wide corporate social responsibility contest.

In November 2016 JSC "Embamunaigas" signed a new Collective Agreement for 2017-2021. Discussion of the Collective Agreement took 6 months. All employees of the production departments of the Company took part in working on the Agreement.
